Sneakers are Germany’s favourite shoes

Sneakers are the favourite shoe for 56% of Germans. Boots (21%) and sandals (9%) were voted second and third. According to the study, a possible reason for their popularity could be their combination of comfortable fit and modern design. This is also appreciated by certain celebrities from the entertainment industry, who are currently pushing the trend and have perhaps inspired the Germans to wear more sneakers. The eBay survey identified celebrities with the best sneaker style. The top four were as follows: Rihanna (51%), Kanye West (32%), Olivia Palermo (9%) and Cara Delevingne (8%). The British mannequin, Cara Delevingne, primarily seems to be a role model for young women, who would otherwise tend towards high-heeled shoes. Cara makes no bones about the fact that both types of shoe are in! In Germany, the most popular sneakers are Vans – this classic leads the market in sneaker sales on eBay.  In the first nine months of this year, 65,991 pairs of Vans were sold, which equates to roughly 240 pairs per day.
