A new app connects runners in cities around the world, a Citytrail event is bringing them to one place and, naturally, Solomon is launching a suitable running shoe for autumn/winter 2014/15: the X-Scream GTX.
Salomon has transformed Recklinghausen into a running Mecca. There, on 13 September 2014, together with Runner’s Point and the Barmer health insurance fund, the company held an event for running enthusiasts who want to experience cities in a sporty manner. Now runners can experience the Citytrail feeling. Salomon has developed its own app, which presents the best trails in cities worldwide. The closest and most beautiful city trails can be easily accessed by runners. Mileage can be documented with the tracking tool before being shared with other users online – thereby fostering a growing global urban running community, all connected by their passion for the trails of their city. The free app has been available for download in the App Store and on www.salomon.com since June 2014.
X-Scream GTX
Those exploring city trails can find every imaginable surface: asphalt, cobblestones, gravel. For this reason, the new X-Scream is as flexible and multifaceted as the paths it runs on, explains Salomon.
An effective, shock-absorbing system allows optimal rolling characteristics and more effortless running. The waterproof bootie construction protects against the rain. The Contagrip outsole was designed for the winter and offers solid grip on snowy paths, even on icy ground.
The reflectors mounted on the heel of the X-Scream GTX also offer greater safety in the winter. The X-Scream GTX is a functional running shoe that combines the flexibility of a mesh running shoe with the advantages of a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane.
