A total of 21,912 visitors (2013: 21,465) arrived on Lake Constance to view and sample the trade fair offers. According to the organisers, 925 exhibitors from 39 nations presented more than 220 world premieres at the trade fair, far exceeding the organisers’ expectations. “In the run-up to Outdoor, there was a lot of discussion about whether the outdoor industry, which has seen many years of growth, can now expect stagnation. This year’s Outdoor has once again shown that the industry is continuing its growth trajectory, that the mood is generally very good, and that we are committed as always to exploring all the possibilities that the outdoor market offers us. We can look back on a great exhibition with a wonderful atmosphere that ranks among the truly excellent predecessors,” summarised Rolf Schmid, President of the European Outdoor Group (EOG) and CEO of the Mammut Sports Group, when the exhibition closed on Sunday.
There was a positive echo from the exhibitors’ side. Jürgen Kurapkat, W. L. Gore & Associates GmbH, looked back on a successful Outdoor: “We’ve never had so many interested retailers and media representatives at our stand. Just as we act as a central platform for our partners, dealers and the media, so does Outdoor for the entire industry.”
