Adidas Originals by Mary Katrantzou

Mary Katrantzou concentrated primarily on sneakers in her first Adidas Originals collection. The 31-year-old took inspiration from the classic designs, „Equipment Racer“ and „ZX 5000“, adding subversive graphics coupled with architectural shapes. However, the Adidas Originals Collection by Mary Katrantzou is not just about sports shoes, it also comprises clothing (coat and mini dresses, tracksuit jackets, leggings and tailored t-shirts). The Greek-born designer puts emphasis on the female silhouette, while the product range reflects the vivid colours and extraordinary sense of pattern that are typical of her work.

„I grew up, like so many other kids around the world, wearing Adidas sneakers and I am privileged to be bringing my vision to such a global brand. Prints and colours suit a large target group, so it was important for me that this collection be aimed at a wider clientele. I work on luxury articles and niche products every day, so it’s great that more people can now enjoy my products“, says Mary Katrantzou.
